Felines like to think they’re really smart, but ones like this cat, stuck on the top of a car for over 100 miles, prove that they’re not all that.

Typically, taking a pet on holiday takes some extra planning. Things like travel cages, extra food, leashes, and accommodation all need to be factored in for furry friends. But, for the Denardo family, the surprise appearance of their cat resulted in some quick thinking and replanning.
Stowaway: The family had already packed their bags, loaded their van, and were 100 miles into their journey from Kittanning, Pennsylvania, to New Hampshire when they needed to refuel. Standing by the side of their vehicle, the dad noticed someone extra on the roof. Their family cat, Ray Ray, had decided to come along.
- For 100 miles, the cat had clung to the top of the car, becoming an unexpected addition to the journey. It had casually ridden on the cheap seat across bumps, turns, and high speeds. Despite the crazy ride, old Ray Ray seemed rather calm.
The family had a decision to make. Turn around and take the cat over 100 miles home, or bring him along for the ride. They opted for the latter.
Ray Rays Big Adventure
The trip the family had planned already was a multistage one with a few destinations. They were initially heading to New Hampshire for a marathon, then going to New York for some family sightseeing. They decided that the cat had come 100 miles on the top of their car already. It may as well join the rest in the comfort of a car seat.
- The Denardos stopped off at a pet store, bought what they needed, and continued on their way, plus one.
Easy Traveller: It appeared that Ray Ray knew what they were getting into. Cats aren’t often the best travellers, but this cat was more than happy with the adventure. The family shared how well it took to being out of the house.
- Ray Ray crossed the marathon finishing line in New Hampshire and saw the Big Apple from the comfort of a newly purchased cat backpack. The cat’s world suddenly got a lot larger.
