Richard Sterban of the Oak Ridge Boys has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and his many fans have kept him in their thoughts and prayers.

Cancer is a rising problem around the world, with a huge portion of us likely to have something throughout our lives. It’s imperative to always get checked and stay aware of the warning signs. When Richard Sterban of the Oak Ridge Boys felt a little off, he went in for a check-up. It appeared he had pancreatic cancer.
- “I am under the care of the best cancer doctors in the country and, with the help of the Good Lord above, I believe I will be able to get through this,” he shared.
- Addressing his fans, he said, “I want to thank everyone, especially the fans, for your concern, and I would appreciate your continued prayers. Most days, I’m feeling very good, and I hope to be back out on the road in several months.”
Despite his cancer diagnosis, the Oak Ridge Boys singer is keeping his outlook positive. He is still hopeful he will pull through. Due to it being so common, cancer is highly researched. It is more treatable than ever before.

Staying Positive
The cancer diagnosis was a shock for Sterban, but he is staying positive. The rest of the group has continued their tour, replacing him with Aaron McCune and Tim Duncan. He is not the first of the Oak Ridge Boys to have dropped out. Over the years, they have had a few losses from the group.
- Between them all, there have been 16 deaths of close relatives and loved ones. However, they don’t let that slow them down and continue to tour. They initially intended to retire in 2022, but are on the road, even today.
Online love: Many people have come forward online to share their thoughts for Oak Ridge Boys singer Sterban. “Prayers for Richard, in Jesus’ name. We’ve traveled many roads and shared lots of stages together,” Chris Golden said.
Hopefully, the singer will pull through, and the fantastic wonders of modern medicine will help him make a full recovery.
