MCSO Confirmed It Has Made An Arrest Regarding The Hospital Incident

Authorities revealed the suspect and charges: MCSO posted an updated news release on Facebook on August 27. The post details that they have arrested 41-year-old Robert Shrader, a former employee at the Woodlands Medical Center.

  • Authorities explain that the arrest follows an investigation into hidden recording devices found inside the restroom. The news release notes that detectives found two separate cameras. Both were concealed “within ceiling tiles adjacent to exhaust fans” inside two unisex restrooms. One was on the second floor, while the other was on the third floor inside the Medical Surgical Unit.
  • Police are charging Shrader with a felony charge of Invasive Visual Recording. Detectives are now analyzing the recording devices to discover how long the suspect was recording and how many potential victims.

A violation of privacy: Montgomery County Sheriff Doolittle declared the incident a “tremendous violation of privacy,” in a statement. “For individuals who were already dealing with the stress of being in a hospital, to learn that their privacy was violated in such a way is truly unconscionable. This is a perversion that we will not tolerate in our community. We are sympathetic to our victims and are committed to bringing them justice,” he said.

  • The news release notes that the investigation remains ongoing. MCSO also asks anyone who believes they may be a victim to come forward.
