What happened: According to a report by WLTX, the couple’s activities garnered public attention in July, when Boise Police filed the initial charges.

  • Per a press release by the City of Boise, officers investigated reports of protection order violations. Two protected parties had allegedly received a “large document containing threatening language” written by 42-year-old Jonathan Harms.
  • The document reportedly threatened to hurt the protected parties. It was also sent to multiple people across the country, threatening people by name. Harms was “known to have weapons” and was confrontational with the police. Authorities took him into custody on July 12.
  • Officers also arrested 39-year-old Jolene Harms. Evidence gathered during an investigation reportedly showed that she threatened a local law enforcement officer and their family. At the time, authorities charged Jonathan with two counts of Stalking in the First Degree. Jolene faced a Telecommunication Harassment charge.

Authorities Have Filed Multiple Charges Since The Initial Arrests

A kill list: Per a report by Idaho News 6, court documents reveal that Jolene and Jonathan now face 60 charges each. 20 counts of Felony Stalking in the First Degree, 19 counts of Felony Witness Intimidation, and 21 counts of Misdemeanor Witness Intimidation.

  • According to WLTX, an arrangement on September 26 revealed that Jonathan sent out a 277-page “Kill List.” It reportedly names dozens of people and states, “go, hunt, kill.” The outlet explains that the list says to murder multiple people, including civilians and judges. It also reportedly suggests burning buildings.
  • Jolene’s stalking charges are similar in nature to Jonathan’s, per WLTX. They reportedly allege “unwanted repeated communication and/or contact” causing significant emotional distress. Her charges also mention the kill list.
  • Other charges allege that Jolene sent letters to victims on two separate occasions, once around August 7 and again around September 25. She also allegedly “posted or instructed others” to post the kill list on social media.
  • The case remains ongoing, and the couple is due back in court on October 6.
