Jay Cutler, the former NFL star, has turned himself in to the Tennessee jail after being caught DUI.

What Happened: The NFL star was caught driving under the influence in October 2024. While driving his Dodge Ram, he rear-ended another vehicle. He was questioned by the police, who noticed a strong smell of alcohol. On further questioning, he appeared to be slurring his words.
- “Cutler refused field sobriety tests and was taken to a local hospital where a blood sample was obtained through a blood search warrant,” the press release said. Upon a search of his vehicle, it was found that he was also carrying two firearms, including a loaded handgun.
- Jay Cutler also admitted to attempting to flee the scene. Before the police arrived, he had tried to pay the owner of the other vehicle $2,000 not to call the police. The whole situation was a bit of a drunken mess. But now, Jay Cutler has turned himself in and will serve his time in jail.
Pressed Charges
Jay Cutler was taken into custody when the police arrived on the scene of the DUI. He faced a judge for his crimes and was given numerous charges.
The Charges: After the event, Jay Cutler was found guilty of DUI, possession of a handgun while under the influence, implied consent, and failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision. However, the gun possession charges have been dropped due to his guilty plea.
- As a result, Jay Cutler will now have to serve four days in jail. He has also been given a $350 fine. He will also be on unsupervised probation for a year and attend a DUI course. His license has also been revoked in Tennessee.
I have to say, for getting involved in a drunken car accident, attempted bribery, carrying multiple weapons, and attempting to flee the scene, Jay Cutler got off very light. The police involved were either up against a serious lawyer team or they’re big fans of the Miami Dolphins.
However, he will serve his four days in jail and give the police the spare change from his pockets. He will then be on his way.
