Since his endorsement of President Donald Trump in 2024, Rogan has come increasingly associated with the conservative side of the spectrum and their dealings. So it makes sense that the podcast host would have thoughts on Hegseth and his latest announcement.
Rogan was on the podcast with members of The Red Clay Strays when talk turned to Hegseth and his gathering of the military leaders.
- “The most important thing is be ready. Be ready and have the most capable military that’s humanly possible given the resources that we have today,” Rogan said.
- “You saw what the f**k was going on over the last four years,” he said. “You got guys in dresses talking about how it’s really important to have inclusiveness. It’s the most important thing about the military — is inclusivity.”
Pete Hegseth Speaks Out
Appearing at the Marine Corps Base Quantico, Hegseth laid down a new order for the military.
- “From this moment forward the only mission of the newly restored Department of War is this: war fighting, preparing for war and preparing to win,” Hegseth said.
In particular, he said that he was tired of seeing overweight military members, introducing new rules for fitness in the armed forces.
- He said, “If women can make it, excellent, if they cannot — then so be it … it will also mean that weak men won’t qualify. This is combat.”
- “Frankly, it’s tiring to look out at combat formations, or really any formation, and see fat troops,’ he said. ‘Likewise, it’s completely unacceptable to see fat generals and admirals in the halls of the Pentagon leading commands around the country and the world.”
- “It’s a bad look. It is bad, and it’s not who we are,” he also continued.
As part of the changes, Hegseth said that he was ending identity initiatives in the military as well.
- “No more identity months, DEI offices, dudes in dresses, no more climate change worship, no more division, distraction or gender delusion, no more debris. I’ve said before and will say again, we are done with that s***,” he said.
- “No more anonymous complaints, no more repeat complainants, smearing reputations, no more endless waiting or side-tracking careers,” Hegseth said.
- “Of course, being a racist has been illegal in our formation since 1948. The same goes for sexual harassment. Both are wrong and illegal. Those kinds of infractions will be ruthlessly enforced,” he said.
