A weirdly specific clause to do with cocaine use may result in Keith Urban getting around $11 million in his divorce from Nicole Kidman.

Lifestyles of the rich and the famous come with numerous trappings. Fast cars, easy sex, and copious amounts of drugs are the clichés that seem to run true. When you are surrounded by beautiful people in fantastic parties and have more money than sense, it’s hard to resist. I’m deeply embroiled in all three, and I’m ugly, unknown, and poor as hell. I can only imagine what it must be like for the Hollywood elite.
Deal Breaker: When Keith Urban got married to Nicole Kidman, he was on a rocky road. The fame had gone to his head, and so had plenty of drugs. Despite being a bit of a wreck, however, he still managed to bag one of Hollywood’s hottest dates.
- They got married in 2006, and only a few months afterward, Keith Urban was sliding back into his addiction. But Nicole wasn’t about to give up on her new husband that easily. Rather than walk away when she still could, she stuck it out.
- Keith Urban, to save his relationship to Nicole Kidman, went into rehab to sort himself out. It was her or the drugs. Although she had stuck by him, she wanted to see a marked improvement before she gave him children.
And so the cocaine clause was born.
Stay Clean, Get Rich
The cocaine clause, according to various outlets such as Radar, states that as long as Keith Urban left the life of cocaine and booze behind, Nicole Kidman would continue to pay him. For every year that he stayed off the sauce and powders, she would give him $600,000.
- This equates to a healthy $11 million, provided he actually managed to do so.
For Nicole Kidman, the $600,000 offer was an easy motivator to keep her husband sober. And, for the most part, it seemed to have worked. The two of them had two children together, and until recently, enjoyed almost two decades of marriage. It doesn’t appear that it was his addictions that broke the pair up, either.
With a net worth of $75 million, Keith Urban doesn’t need the other $11 million from his soon-to-be ex-wife. But, breakups can get petty.
