A man from Italy reportedly tried to end his own life by jumping from a building. He survived, but is now facing manslaughter charges after landing on an elderly woman.

What happened: According to a report by Italian outlet Rai News, the incident occurred late afternoon on September 14 at a residence in Milan.
- A 70-year-old man allegedly attempted to end his own life by jumping from the fourth floor of an apartment building. However, he landed on an 83-year-old woman, Francesca Manno, and survived the fall.
- The translated report notes that Manno may have been coming back from the car park or throwing out the garbage at the time. Per Corriere Della Sera, the woman died “on the spot” after the 70-year-old landed on her head.
- Emergency services transported the man to Niguarda Hospital in a critical condition. Per Rai News, his condition is not life-threatening, although he has suffered multiple fractures, particularly to his lower limbs.
Authorities Confirm The Man And The Victim Did Not Know Each Other
No connection: According to Corriere Della Sera, authorities initially believed the two were a couple in a double-suicide pact. However, investigators later confirmed no connection between the man and the woman.
- A resident told Rai News that Manno lived on the first floor with her husband and rarely left the house.
- The outlet reveals that the man is still hospitalized, but confirmed that authorities have charged him with manslaughter.

- 20-year-old Jadan Orr was reportedly drinking with his friends at an apartment. He entered the bedroom during the night with two friends, where he allegedly found an AK-47 rifle. The airman fired the weapon while “manipulating the firearm.” A bullet went through the wall into the living room, where it struck a 23-year-old.
- When the emergency services arrived, they found several people assisting the victim outside. Despite their efforts, authorities declared him dead at the scene.
- Authorities did not release the victim’s identity, and the incident remained under investigation.
