According to a news release by Michigan Lottery Connect, a man from Kent County hit the progressive jackpot prize on the Super Lucky 7’s Fast Cash game. The 39-year-old man, who wished to remain anonymous, told the lottery he usually plays scratchcards but had the urge to play something different.
“I usually play scratch off tickets, but I bought a $30 Jumbo Jackpot Slots Fast Cash ticket on a whim and ended up winning $300,” He told the outlet. “When I cashed that ticket, I used $20 of my winnings to buy a Super Lucky 7s ticket.”
The man told the Lottery he scanned his ticket on the Michigan Lottery app and started shaking when he saw the amount on the screen. He had just won $714,891 to complement his $300 from moments earlier. He told lottery officials the first thing he did was hug the cashier.
The Michigan Lottery Ticket Winner Reveals What He Plans To Do With The Money
The news release explains that the 39-year-old purchased his ticket at ” Exit 76 – Meadowbrooke, located at 4919 Town Center Court Southeast in Grand Rapids.” He plans to pay off his bills, put some cash in his children’s college funds, and save the rest. According to the Michigan Lottery Super Lucky 7’s page, the anonymous winner beat odds of 1 in 600,000 to claim the progressive prize.
Winners often have to visit a Lottery headquarters to claim larger prizes. But have you ever wondered what happens if a jackpot remains unclaimed? CaLottery posted a news release about this precise conundrum in June, revealing that somebody had won a whopping $1,391,550. However, they never showed up to claim it, and it was a prize from back in December 2024.
CaLottery noted that Lottery prizes have an expiry date of 180 days. After that period, officials would allocate the money to public schools across the state.
