Renown actor, director, and film writer Verónica Echegui has passed away at only 42 years old after a battle with cancer.

Initially, Verónica Echegui came to light with her popular role in My Name Is Juani, released in 2006 and directed by Bigas Luna. Her performance in the central role of the Spanish-language movie caught the attention of the audience. It was a breakout performance that put her on the map.
Her Career on Screen: Verónica Echegui took four Spanish Academy nominations during her career. She was nominated for new actor (“My Name is Juani,” 2007), lead actress (“My Prison Yard, 2009; “Katmandu,” 2012), and supporting actress (“My Heart Goes Boom,” 2022).
Her career went from strength to strength, and before long, the Spanish actress was being fielded for international roles. Verónica Echegui had her breakout over the pond with Bunny And The Bull initially. However, the title that really caught the eye of the international market was Love You To Death, released in 2025.
This was the final role for her, which she stayed in until succumbing to cancer. She was full of life and energy on the screen until her passing.
