Prouse asks, “What is your most unhinged teacher tip? Mine is that seating kids by Zodiac sign works SHOCKINGLY well.”

  • During the short video, Prouse divides a piece of paper into four segments: Air signs, Water signs, Fire signs, and Earth signs. She then puts a couple of names into the chart as examples.
  • Prouse also notes in the video’s description that her technique works even better at the start of the year, before she’s met her students.
  • The comments section is full of users praising Prouse’s idea. One reply, with 16k likes, jokes, “If this is high school you’re also doubling as a matchmaker.” Others suggest the teacher can get creative by mixing signs, which Prouse elaborated on in a separate post.

The Teacher Revealed Traits She Noticed On Each Table

A foolproof arrangement: The teacher addressed her followers in another video, joking that she asked for tips while most people just wanted to hear more about her ideas.

  • She clarified that she only pushes seating arrangements at the start of a school year. “It was really intimidating to me to have this roster full of kids that I didn’t know at the beginning of the year,” Prouse explained. The teacher didn’t want to arrange students by grades, so she tried Zodiac signs as a test.
  • “It was so much more accurate than I thought it would be,” Prouse admitted. As for how the signs compared, she explained that the Earth signs were driven and motivated. On the flip side, she revealed that Water sign kids were often more sensitive, with some students missing their parents.
  • The teacher noted that Fire students argued more, but still enjoyed each other’s company. Finally, she said she made a mistake with the air table, putting it toward the back of the class. “They were lost in space,” Prouse recalled, explaining she often had to prompt them to get back on task.
  • Ultimately, the teacher said the arrangement was a great way to get to know her students and served as a baseline for moves later in the year. She also revealed plans to mix signs on each table next year so groups can work to their strengths.
