The UK has introduced face ID to adult content on the internet, in yet another step towards its fascist regime, but people have found a way around it using video games.

What’s going on: The internet is one of the biggest threats to the UK surveillance state. People are able to say what they like, organize, discuss, and plot in almost complete anonymity. Over the past decade or so, the UK has introduced a tighter grip on the freedom of its citizens, and internet face ID is the latest move in control.
- Initially, face ID is only required for adult sites. This includes everything from pornographic websites to images flagged as mature on Twitter. Even Spotify, Reddit, and Discord have insisted that people upload an ID or a picture of their face to their platforms for continued access in the UK.
This seems like an attempt to safeguard the internet. But it is, in fact, just another way to remove anonymity online. Now, people’s faces will be linked to their internet histories, likes, cookies, searches, and more. Today it’s adult content, tomorrow, it’s internet access full stop. They’re taking possession of the internet.
They just started with porn because everyone is too embarrassed to speak out about it.
Death Stranding UK Face ID Fools Tech
The rudimentary way the UK enforces anything, thankfully, always leaves enormous exploits. For instance, during the COVID-19 pandemic, thousands of test results were lost due to the million-line limit on the Excel spreadsheet they used to store results. They have gone about the internet with face ID requirements in the same way.
How people are fighting back: The face ID used in the UK gives a few simple instructions while recording images of the user. Directions such as ‘turn head to the left’, ‘open mouth’, and ‘move back’ all need to be followed for the software to determine an age over 18. However, modern games can do all this.
Initially, people were using the new Death Stranding 2 game to fool the face ID. In the game, the photo mode allows players to manipulate the expressions of the characters. It was presumed that due to their lifelike appearance, they tricked the software.

But now, even a game from 2006 is able to bypass the UK facial ID scans. Garry’s Mod also has the ability to manipulate the facial expressions of characters. They look like potatoes with the massively outdated graphics, but it’s good enough for the face ID.
Whatever you do, people, do not upload pictures of your face to be linked with your internet use. The internet is a free, ungoverned space. If we let them get away with this, their next steps will only be more controlling.
