If the internet has taught me anything, it is to never get on a cruise ship water slide. Recently, yet another video went viral, proving exactly why that is. Startling footage shared in a TikTok video showed the moment that a cruise ship passenger got stuck in a water slide over the open ocean.

The Details: While the exact cruise line has not been divulged, the incident itself has gone viral. The video clip shows a woman going down the water slide only to get stuck halfway. From there, she raises her arms and begins frantically trying to propel herself forward through the remainder of the slide.
- People Magazine reported that, although the cruise line was not officially disclosed, “the exterior of the vessel closely resembles Norwegian Cruise Line’s Bliss.”

The 13-second video seems agonizingly long as viewers watch this cruise passenger desperately try to escape the water slide. TikTok user @kaylamierzejewski shared the clip with the viral “Jet2 Holiday” audio over top of it.

The Internet Reacts: This terrifying event has elicited a range of responses across the internet. The majority of commenters expressed their sympathy for the cruise passenger who got stuck on the water slide. Additionally, many of them shared how they would have panicked in a similar situation.

That is the million-dollar question. The NY Post shared that it is currently unclear if the woman was able to successfully scoot her way out of the slide. Another user shared that she wouldn’t have had to because “the tube is fitted with an emergency hatch — ready for staff to pop open if a rider gets stuck.”
Hopefully, she was promptly removed and remained injury-free throughout the entire ordeal.
