Officers Reportedly Picked Up The Virginia Man At A Walmart
Engaged a week prior: News outlet WMAR cites charging documents revealing that Broadwater and Dickerson got engaged on September 11.
- The charging documents reportedly state that the 911 caller said their mother was in the bathroom with multiple stab wounds. Police learned that Dickerson was angry earlier in the day and started banging on the apartment door. The 911 caller allegedly left the apartment and found their mother dead when they returned.
- Per WMAR, police responded to a welfare check at a Walmart a few hours later. Security escorted a man out of the building owing to “something not being right.” Officers identified the man as Dickerson. He was reportedly shirtless and had cuts on his arms and hands.
- The suspect allegedly denied being in the apartment but later admitted to being there when officers pointed out holes in his story. Per the HCPD, authorities are charging Dickerson with first and second-degree murder, assault, and home invasion. An investigation remains ongoing.
