A Public Disturbance: Police were initially called to the scene of a public disturbance on the 11000 block of Ovada Place in Bel Air. It was 6:44 am, which is far too early for that kind of behavior. But the screaming woman wasn’t going without a fight. So, rather than give herself up, she hopped into her SUV and drove away.
A Brief Chase: The woman made her getaway, but it didn’t last long. After a brief police chase, the woman stopped her SUV and was quickly surrounded. Unsure of what was going on with the crazed civilian, the police jumped from their cars and pulled their weapons.
- The police took extra precautions with the woman, who was completely in the buff, in her SUV. They surrounded her tyres with spike strips and pointed weapons at her from behind their own cars. There was also a LAPD Systemwide Mental Response Team called to the scene.
Unclothed and Enraged
The woman wasn’t going down without one last act of insanity. Rather than stepping from her car and doing the usual face down, hands behind the back dance, she went for something a little original. Without her clothes, she climbed on top of her SUV.
Unclothed and Unarmed: At least, without clothes, the police knew that the crazed woman wasn’t carrying a weapon. She could hardly be a threat in the buff, surrounded by armed police. They took their opportunity and moved in on her, bringing her down from the SUV.
Because of her outburst, the morning commute at the intersection of Sepulveda and Montana was closed. By the time she had been brought down from her vehicle, it was around 11 AM. Sometimes people will go to outrageous lengths to get the day off work.
