The Leading Cause Of Injuries At Disney World Isn’t What You Might Expect

If someone asked what the leading cause of injuries in Disney World was, you would be forgiven for thinking it would be ride-related or heat exhaustion. But, in actual fact, it’s much more clumsy than that.

Injuries: For people into the whole Disney World lark, the parks offer a wealth of distractions and marvels. Beautiful sets, incredible rides, famous characters, and more pull the eyes away from where people are walking. And herein lies the problem.

The main cause of injuries in Disney World is from people not looking where they are going and tripping. In 2024 through to the early months of 2025, the leading cause of catastrophe was people falling over.

  • Most people actually ate Disney dirt while stepping off rides. It’s the mount and dismount that throw people off. And, honestly, I can sympathise. After being on spinning teacups, even the most hardy rider is a little weak on their feet.

Disney: A World Of Injury

Few accidents though: Around 58 million people visit Disney World every year, so it’s expected that there will be a lot of injuries. However, there are a lot fewer reported than I personally expected. Whether this is because the international superpower known as Disney covers them up and hides the bodies, or just because it’s rather safe, is anyone’s guess.

Either way, I would have thought that with that many people of varying ages and healths coming to somewhere as wild as Disney World would result in more injuries. Kids running around, through the legs of pensioners, is a real recipe for disaster.

Somehow, though, they have very few reported accidents. It’s a good thing, too. Trying to sue someone like Disney to pay for medical expenses would be like trying to squeeze blood from a stone. They will have a bigger lawyer team than Trump.

But, it’s worth bearing in mind, if you’re the kind of person who frequents Disney World, to should watch your feet when entering and exiting the rides. Don’t become another clumsy victim of adrenaline legs or a dizzy head.
