What happened: Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd shared details about the strange incident on X, which occurred on October 9 at a property in Lake Wales.
- Officers responded to a call about a burglary in progress at around 2:18 AM. They reportedly heard shouting behind the home when they approached the residence.
- Law enforcement found the landlord, 61-year-old Dion Robbins, engaged in an altercation through a window. The sheriff notes that the landlord had blood on his face and was shirtless.
- Deputies attempted to apprehend Robbins, but he resisted arrest and reportedly kicked one of the officers. “His resistance was short-lived, and he was cuffed and secured in a patrol vehicle,” Judd explained.

Multiple charges: The sheriff’s post says, “When it comes to evictions in Florida, there is a right way and a wrong way.” The landlord reportedly decided he wanted to evict his tenants and showed up in the early hours.
- According to an arrest affidavit, Robbins pushed a window AC unit inward. The resident reportedly feared for their safety and started hitting Robbins in the face as he tried to get inside.
- Authorities charged the landlord with Burglary with Assault, Battery on a LEO, Resisting with Violence, and Resisting without Violence.
Another failed entry: Authorities in Houston received a call about a failed home invasion in August. Two burglars approached a home, masquerading as cops, but the homeowner was not convinced.
- The residents reportedly had a ring camera and quickly realized something was wrong. Lt Khan from the Houston Police Department said, “The suspects were saying they had a warrant, but, y’know, it’s just two people and they are masked up. No police cars, no lights or anything like that.”
- The suspects allegedly shot into the house through the door, and the homeowner returned fire. Both suspects died in the shootout, while the resident escaped uninjured. A child was reportedly in the house at the time and was also unharmed.
