Where: The Tinder Swindler was arrested in Georgia on September 14th at the request of the German government. However, his lawyer says he has not yet been charged with any crimes in Germany.
Why: A woman has come forward claiming that Hayut has conned her out of thousands of dollars. She claims he has managed to take €44,000 from her. This equates to around $52,000. The amount was taken over the period of about three years.
- According to her report, acquired by E! Online, this amount was taken via a phone contract and a credit card in her name. The Tinder Swindler also lied about being stuck in the Cayman Islands, for which she paid €9,000 for a hotel and flights.
However, according to Hayut’s lawyer, these claims are all false.
A History of Theivery
This isn’t the first time that Hayut, the Tinder Swindler, has been arrested for allegedly stealing money from women. In 2020, he was imprisoned for defrauding around $10 million from five different women. He was given 15 months in prison in Israel, but only served 5.
Tinder Swindler Gets Publicity: In 2022, a woman came forward to share her story of Hayut and his money swindling schemes. The show became a smash hit on Netflix and boosted the fraudster to fame. He rode that wave and has made plenty more money as a result.
- However, Hayut disputes the representation he received on the Netflix show. Although he claims that some of it is true, including using a fake passport and claiming to be someone he wasn’t, he thinks it’s not completely accurate.
Now, though, it seems he’s back to his old ways. He is doing what he does best, and using unsuspecting women as his personal bank accounts. He claims the latest accusations aren’t true, but that’s up to the German government to find out.
