Traditionally, neither catholic priests nor nuns are allowed to get married. The idea is that a life of chastity shows true dedication to their faith in the Catholic god. If a priest or nun wants to marry, they have to be laicized. This means returning to the status of a layperson, which both does and doesn’t mean someone who can get laid.
Nun of That: Both Lais Dognini and Jackson Dognini were studying to become ultra-holy in the Catholic sense. They had dedicated years to study and piety. Lias was still a missionary when she came down with a bout of the sads. Depression took its grip, and her health began to decline.
- Many of her holy peers prayed for the sad nun, including Jackson, who was undergoing his 5 years of training in a Brazilian seminary. But, for Lais, the depression was too much, and she dropped out of holy prep school to focus on healing.
Shooting A Holy Shot: Despite never having actually met, priest-in-training Jackson shot sad nun Lais a message. He wanted her to know he was still praying for her and thinking about her, in a holy manner, of course. He believed that one day she would return to the fold.
Love in A Library
She liked Jackson slipping into her DMs, and his offer of prayers made her hot under the wimple. He continued messaging her as she battled with her depression, and they eventually agreed to meet. He did what any good Catholic priest would do and paid for a joint membership to her Catholic Library. Here, they could study the good book in peace, away from prying eyes.
A Change of Faith: Although the priest said that he hoped to help the Brazilian nun return to faith, things took a different turn. Meeting with Lais, Jackson discovered that the nun under that habit had him feeling like Saint Benedict and the thorn bush. His faith was tested, and his carnal desires won the day.
- “Anyway, time passed and two years later he began to realize that that wasn’t his calling and prayed a lot to discern what he should do,” she shared on her Instagram.
Now, they’re happily married after dating for six months and being engaged for four. They got married in secret, although nothing is secret in the eyes of the lord. Not even things that happen in Catholic libraries.
