Religious or not, having a cross necklace deflect what should have been a fatal shot from a gun is lucky, bordering on divine intervention.

This was what happened to 20-year-old Aiden Perry. The young man almost died after suffering a near-fatal gunshot wound. However, his choice of neckwear appears to have saved his life.
While at his friend’s summer country house, the young man was accidentally shot, point-blank in the chest. Due to a terrible accident, the .40 caliber bullet entered straight into his chest. Looking down, the damage was immediately obvious, and he thought he was going to die.
“I looked down I see tons of blood,” Perry told Fox35. “I thought I was going to die, honestly.” But he was wearing a cross necklace, which inadvertently saved his life from the unlucky shot. Emergency teams rushed to assess the damage and determine if he would survive. That’s when they realized how close he came to death.
Divine Deflection Or Not?
As the shot entered Perry’s chest, it glanced off a chain holding a cross around his neck. His god clearly decided that today wasn’t his day. The surgeons were amazed at how lucky he was to have been wearing it. Without it, they said, he would almost certainly have lost his life.
“The bullet entered his left upper chest around this area and traveled to his left arm,” they recalled of his injury. “When we normally see these injuries, they’re usually devastating injuries. In Aidan’s case, he was fortunate enough where the bullet did not enter his chest wall – it ricocheted off the chain he was wearing.”
But, for Perry, his lucky escape from death was a sign that his faith needs to be reinforced. Having his life saved from a fatal shot by a chain holding onto a cross is a divine message for the 20-year-old. Talking to Fox35, he said, “It’s just kind of a reminder now – to never stop believing… keep believing and God’s definitely real.”
Miracle or not, you be the judge. But the 20-year-old is certainly enjoying his good fortune and second lease at life.
