The Coldplay kisscam rocked the world. A CEO was caught red-handed, embracing his HR manager live on the jumbotron despite being married. It seemed like it was all over for the handsy bossman, but they’re attempting to spin it back under control. Good luck.

Too Close For Comfort: Coldplay cleverly showcased Ex-Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and his HR mistress, Kristin Cabot, snuggling up during their show. As soon as the professional pair realized, the two ducked out of the limelight. But it was too late. The world had seen.

- The kisscam was game over for both of their relationships and careers. The fallout was global, even tanking the company’s stocks, and it’s all anyone talked about for some time. Their homes were wrecked, and their jobs were in the dirt. Cabot certainly won’t be telling anyone about ‘correct professional behavior’ any time soon.
But the pair, along with a few friends, are trying to spin it in a new way, saving face.
Just Friends
Speaking to People, a source close to Cabot has explained that the cuddle on the Coldplay kisscam was just friendly. That’s how all work-wives behave with their rich bosses, isn’t it?
- “Kristin and Andy [Byron] had an excellent working relationship, a great friendship. There was no affair,” they insist. However, they admit that the behaviour wasn’t appropriate, professionally, but insist that it was all just innocent.
- “It was inappropriate to be hugging your boss at a concert, and she accepts full responsibility for it,” they told People. “But the scandal, the downfall, the loss of the job — all of that is unfair.”
The source goes on to defend her actions, claiming that the whole situation is completely relatable. I can’t even count how many times my editor has taken me out to live shows for a little VIP booth smooches. It’s just the way of things.
- “All I can think of is that this could happen to any of us at any time. I think all of the misinformation has been the most mind-blowing to witness.”
I can understand that it must be awful for the two of them. But whether it’s true or not, many people have already made up their minds.
