A 1950s-era medical video showing a housewife reacting to a dose of the LSD drug has found renewed interest on Reddit this week.

The drug, which would become popular in the 1960s and heavily influence pop culture, had yet to find its way to suburbia when the video was recorded.
“I couldn’t possibly tell you. It’s here…can’t you feel it…everything is in color, I can feel the air, I can see it, I can see all the molecules,” the unnamed woman tells Dr. Sidney Cohen, the psychiatrist administering the drug.
“Everything is so beautiful, and lovely, and alive,” she says.
One YouTube user summed up the woman’s experience perfectly.
“The ’50s becomes the ’60s right before our eyes,” he wrote.
Cohen would eventually publish his findings in 1964 under the title “The Beyond Within: the LSD Story.”
