Although dogs might seem like goofy pets at times, sometimes one will come through and prove that they’re a lot smarter than we may think. A woman in Florida, in need of help, had her dog come to the rescue and fetch her some help.

When a senior citizen took a tumble in Florida, she sent her dog out on a rescue mission. Lying there in the dark, she could only pray that the faithful hound knew what it needed to do.
A Concerned Husband: An elderly man, possibly unable to search for her himself, had called local Okaloosa County police to report his wife missing. She had taken their dog for a walk and not returned. As he pointed out to the officer, she would usually be back much sooner. But darkness had fallen, and she was nowhere to be found.
- “She never takes more than ten or fifteen minutes,” the elderly gentleman can be heard saying. “It’s been almost an hour now.”
- The officer asks the teary man to describe the dog to her, and he gives a vague description. With this new information, the officer heads out into the night to see what she can find.
Hunting For A Hound
As the officer drives around the residential neighborhood, she radios in the situation. It isn’t long, however, before she spots a dog out on the road. It fits the description the old man gave perfectly, and it’s clearly been on a walk. The dog, trailing its lead, runs right up to the officer.
- “Hi, hi, where’s your mommy?” the officer asks the pooch. The clever dog, knowing it needs to rescue its owner, takes the officer along with it to where it remembers the elderly lady had fallen. Leading the way, it quickly finds her in need of help.
As the woman lies on the ground waiting for medical assistance, the police officer talks to her about her rescue dog. According to the elderly lady, her pet kept running away and running back to check on her. The dog had been repeatedly looking for help and ensuring the old woman was still okay.
That’s the love of a pet, although a cat would never do the same.
