What happened: According to a report by CBS News, authorities have arrested the two employees after an internal investigation revealed they collected thousands in unearned pay. The pair submitted the falsified documents between January and August 2024.

  • The outlet names the suspects as Property and Evidence Manager Demesha Moore and Property and Evidence Coordinator Eunique Gibbons. Per Local 10, Gibbons conspired with her supervisor to tamper with the time sheets.
  • The department paid Moore over $31,000 in unworked hours, per NBC Miami. Gibbons collected nearly $6,000. The outlet notes that Gibbons resigned from her position in September 2024, and Moore was fired.
  • The police department reportedly said in a statement, “The Lauderhill Police Department owes it to our community to maintain public trust. This behavior does not reflect the values of the hardworking men and women who serve our city every day.”

The Former Employees Worked Together To Carry Out The Scheme

Gathering evidence: The outlet cites an arrest report that states authorities used vehicle GPS, keycard, and license plate evidence. It reportedly showed the pair would “clock each other in and out.”

  • Moore reportedly clocked in Gibbons 21 times, where she was one to seven hours late. The arrest report accuses Gibbons of “a distinct pattern” where she would arrive, enter the locker room, stay for an hour, and return to her vehicle.
  • The report also highlights multiple occasions where Gibbons would leave and sit in her car. Other days, she would allegedly leave in the middle of her scheduled shift, but remain clocked in on the system.
  • Per CBS News, authorities took Gibbons into custody on September 21, 2025. Moore followed two days later, on September 23. Local 10 states that Gibbon’s arrest record lists charges for grand theft, organized fraud, and official misconduct. She is reportedly held on a $2,500 bond. NBC Miami reports that both women face grand theft charges.
