What happened: According to a news release by the Fairfield Heights Police, the incident occurred on September 24. An officer conducted a traffic stop on Old Collinsville Road. He reportedly “made a passenger side approach” when contacting the driver.
- The bodycam footage shows another vehicle smashing into the police car from behind. It hits the squad car so hard that it moves forward and hits the stopped SUV in front.
- Moments later, a man exits the crashed vehicle and approaches the officer. The news release identifies him as 28-year-old Keajion L. Jennings. The suspect asks, “Hey, what happened?” The officer responds, “You tell me.”
- Jennings tells the officer, “I need a new car,” as he explains on the radio, “Somebody ran into me. Pushed my vehicle into the other vehicle.”
The Driver Admitted To Taking “Weed Pills”
Drugs and alcohol: The officer presses the suspect about what happened, to which he replies, “I’ve been drinking.” He also admitted to taking some “weed pills.”
- A few moments later, the suspect tells the officer, “I did that on purpose, sir.” When the officer asked why, Jennings replied, “I’m bored.” In the presence of another cop, the officer asks, “So you ran into the back of me on purpose?” Jennings replied, “Yep, I hate cops, man.”
- The police put Jennings in cuffs while he asks, “Am I going to the ambulance?” Emergency services reportedly arrived shortly after.
Authorities charged the suspect with multiple felonies:
- Criminal Damage to Government Property
- 2 counts of Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon
- Aggravated Battery with a Motor Vehicle.
Another bodycam arrest: The Tallahassee Police Department released bodycam footage of an unusual situation earlier this month. Officers arrived at a Chuck. E Cheese arrested a man while he was wearing the mascot’s outfit.
- Perhaps to keep up appearances, the arresting officer tells the suspect, “Come with me, Chucky.” As the suspect is escorted from the building, one kid yells, “Aww, Chuck E.
- The man in the outfit was ultimately arrested for credit card theft. He previously denied using stolen cards, but authorities reportedly found one in his back pocket.
