Authorities found a decomposing body in the trunk of an impounded Tesla on Monday. The vehicle reportedly belongs to singer D4vd.

What happened: According to a report by the Independent, an LAPD spokesperson told the outlet that officers responded to reports of a “foul odor” coming from a vehicle in a tow yard on Monday.
- When officers investigated the Tesla, they found “possible human remains” and launched an investigation. According to ABC7, the vehicle belongs to an upcoming singer, 20-year-old D4vd. His legal name is David Anthony Burke.
- The outlet reveals that authorities found the remains in the front trunk, and the vehicle had been at the impound for a “couple of days.”
Authorities released a description: According to an updated report by ABC7, the body in the vehicle is a woman. Police found it inside a bag in a state of decomposition.
- The outlet explains that she had black wavy hair, was 5ft 2inches tall, and weighed 71 pounds. Authorities have not identified the victim, but say she has a tattoo on her right index finger which reads, “Shhh…”
D4vd Is Reportedly Cooperating With Authorities
The singer is still on tour: Per NBC News, D4vd is currently on his Withered World Tour. He performed his scheduled set on Tuesday night at The Fillmore Minneapolis and has reportedly posted on social media as usual, albeit with limited comments.
- A spokesperson told NBC, D4vd “has been informed about what’s happened, and although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities.”
Some brands have removed D4vd from their campaigns: Per the Express Tribune, Crocs and Hollister have removed the singer from their latest campaign.
- Both companies issued a joint statement about their decision, which reportedly reads, “We are aware of this developing story. With respect to the current situation, we have removed campaign content featuring D4vd while the investigation continues.”
- The outlet reports that despite the ongoing investigation, videos emerged online of the singer handing out Labubu toys to fans at the Minneapolis show.
Per ABC, D4vd often credits TikTok for his success. He has 3.6 million followers on the platform and over 33 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
