Despite looking timid and god fearing, the thing with nuns is, you never know what kind of life they lead before becoming women of the cloth. One nun who chased down a credit card thief said it wasn’t the first time she had fought criminals.

People seem to get Pittsburgh nun Sister Mary Madalyn’s godliness mixed up with weakness. Numerous times she had been the subject of crime, and she’s not one to back down. Her little store in Bloomfield has often been a target. But, she’s having none of it.
Credit Card Theft: Speaking to KDKA-TV, the nun explained about the credit card thief. As a woman went to pay for a few goods in her shop, she noticed something was wrong. Looking through her bag, she noted that her credit cards were missing. The nun went chasing after the credit card thief and got them back.
But this is far from the only time she has gone head-to-head with a criminal. On at least two other occasions, she had faced them down and won.
Nasty Nun
Speaking with the outlet, the nun revealed that the credit card thief was just one of many. Over the years, her little store has seen many robbers and bad guys try their luck. But, she’s got the power of her god on her side.
- She recalled a time when a robber tried to take a necklace from her store. “He was walking out the door, and I started following him, and he turned around and said, ‘I don’t want to have to shoot you.’ And I said, ‘Listen, all I want to tell you is Jesus loves you.’ And then he went out, and I went out after him.”
Divine Armor: For Sister Mary Madalyn, the power of her god is enough to keep her safe from people like the credit card thief. She believes that these people are just misled, and need some kind words and the reminder that god is with them.
- “We’re all His children, whether we know it or not, you know? Sometimes, there’s a lot of crud on us and we have to get that cleaned off to be able to see.”
