A school bus driver apparently had had enough of his unruly students and decided to punish them by turning up the heat.

Parents noted something was amiss on the Pennsylvania school bus run when the kids arrived sweaty and crying. The 5-12-year-olds had clearly not been having a good time on their ride home. The school bus, which should have been air-conditioned, was like an oven.
- According to the kids, they had been misbehaving, and so Harvey Sliker, 75, came up with a method of punishment. He ordered them all to close the bus windows and then blasted the hot air on the school bus.
- It was already around 75°F outside the bus. It could have easily reached 100 inside with the heat on full. The kids were left exhausted and crying after their ordeal. Of course, it’s hardly the most aggressive way to punish a kid, but it’s certainly not appropriate. A school bus driver needs to be trustworthy.

The kids may have been unruly, but cooking them in the school bus with hot air wasn’t the answer. Parents have come forward to ask for the 75-year-old man to be removed from his position. They don’t want their kids arriving from school, sweaty and crying.
- As a result, the school bus driver has been told he can no longer enter the school or any facilities where the school operates. “The complaint included using the heat on the bus as a disciplinary action. We immediately contacted the transportation contractor responsible for that route to address the situation. The contractor has assured us that the individual will no longer be driving for them, and a new driver began Thursday morning,” the Valley Grove school district announced.
The police in the area have been working closely with the school. They have filed simple assault and reckless endangerment charges against Harvey. He will have to face the consequences of cooking the school kids on his bus with blasts of hot air.
But he had also threatened to paddle the kids, according to one report. They got off lucky this time.
