Anti-gun junkie and rights-stripping aficionado Michael Bloomberg has launched an organization called “Everytown” and, like most Bloomberg babies, it’s decided to launch a ridiculous video to kick itself off.

In the video, you see a young brother and sister playing hide-and-seek. The daughter chooses to hide in the closet and uncovers a box that has a gun in it. As the little girl is distracted by her brother finding her, she turns the gun on herself as well as her little brother.
At this time, the video gives you a choice to click on the link and stop the little girl from killing both her and her brother. If you choose to let it go, you hear a gunshot and the mother calling out for her children in a panic.

Comments have been disabled for this video, and I can imagine a few good reasons why. The video is a complete scare tactic filled with one unlikely scenario after another. I’ll give you a few.

Apparently, not only was the parent in the video stupid enough to keep the gun in a box on the floor, and a round chambered, the safety was also off. If the safety was in fact on, somehow the kid knew how to operate the gun enough to to turn it off.

There was a gun in the house and the parents didn’t have the sense to talk to them about gun safety? She just starts playing with the gun she found in a box on the floor like a toy.

Why did she point it at herself when her brother came in? There’s slight plausibility for the things happening above, but that part?
To sum it up: In this video, a little girl goes into a closet, finds a shoe box on the floor that contains a gun with the safety off and a round already chambered, proceeds to play with it like a toy, points it at herself and her brother simultaneously and — if you don’t step in to stop it — will end up killing herself and her little brother.
I’ve seen more realism in “Game of Thrones,” and that has dragons in it.
The site is like every other “gun safety” site you’ve ever seen, filled with flowery language about the army of supporters for better gun legislation, as well as links to tragic events like Newtown (because nothing proves gun safety like gun-free zones).
The entire operation is a scare tactic dressed like a reasonable argument. There are links that talk about safe gun ownership but, if you probe two inches below the surface, you see the wolf under the wool. Take, for instance, this pledge they want you to sign.
They want you on the emailing list for candidates looking to put tougher laws on gun ownership, registration or just essentially making it tougher to enjoy your Second-Amendment rights.
All in all, this entire operation should be laughed at. It uses scary videos, pictures of children holding guns, pictures of crying family members and links to other anti-gun groups that have a habit of dealing out bogus or half-true information, such as Moms Demand Action.
Everytown.org is a joke, and a disgusting one at that.
