In a message posted to the band’s Facebook page, they informed their fans of the shocking news and posted the lyrics to one of the band’s most beloved songs of all time.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our comrade, Eagles founder, Glenn Frey, in New York City on Monday, January 18th, 2016,” the band wrote in a statement.

“Glenn fought a courageous battle for the past several weeks but, sadly, succumbed to complications from Rheumatoid Arthritis, Acute Ulcerative Colitis and Pneumonia.”

After thanking their millions of fans for their support, the band posted the lyrics to “It’s Your World Now” off the bands 2007 comeback album, “Long Road Out of Eden.”

“It’s your world now … My race is run … I’m moving on,” the song goes.

“Like the setting sun … No sad goodbyes … No tears allowed

“You’ll be alright … It’s your world now.”

Glenn Frey was 67 years old.
