A mom with terminal cancer did something amazing to “be there” with her daughter for the rest of her life

Heather McManamy of McFarland, Wisconsin, was diagnosed with breast cancer. It has metastasized in her bones and liver.

She hopes she can see her 4-year-old daughter off to kindergarten.

“Once you’re stage 4, there is no cure,” McManamy told WMTV.

She decided to write her daughter a letter for every milestone, from a bad day to her wedding day.

“It was difficult once I was done, just looking at this pile that’s a physical representation of everything I’m going to miss.”

The letters address the first tooth her daughter loses, her first wedding anniversary, her first child and her 30^th birthday.

McManamy said she doesn’t mind if her daughter, Bri, is too sad to open the letters, she just wants her to have them if she ever needs them.

“I want her to always know that I did everything I could possibly do to be here.”
