Robert Loggia, an actor who appeared in many big box-office movies, has died at age 85 after suffering from Alzheimers disease for the past five years, according to Variety magazine.

Loggia was nominated for a Supporting Actor Oscar for his role as a private detective in “Jagged Edge” in 1986.
Other film credits include: “An Officer and a Gentleman,” “Prizzi’s Honor,” “Independence Day,” “Big,” “Problem Child” and “Scarface.”
Perhaps his most memorable role was a comic turn as the toy company boss in “Big.” In a famous scene, he and Hanks, as a boy in a man’s body, dance on a giant toy keyboard in joyful duets of “Chopsticks” and “Heart and Soul.”
