President Trump launched a US airstrike on a Syrian airfield late Thursday night in response to the Syrian government initiating a deadly chemical weapons attack on its people.

On Monday, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer responded to a question at a daily press briefing about the president’s motives should he choose to pursue further intervention in the Syrian civil war.

“I think the president was very clear that there were a number of lines that were crossed,” he said just before criticizing former President Obama’s limited engagement in Syria. Spicer said that the world saw “a president that is going to act decisively, proportionately, and with justification” following the airstrike.
“If you gas a baby, if you put a barrel bomb into innocent people, you will see a response from this president,” he asserted.
Spicer ended his answer by saying, “Make no mistake, he will act.”
