In March, Rana Nofal was declared missing. Her sister, Nez, was left wondering where her family member was. “It’s been torture,” she told NBC. “Every other day, I keep dreaming or wishing… Oh, I’ll get a phone call and maybe she just bumped her head, had amnesia—something.”
- The search for the missing woman came to an end when a Fort Worth man named Day came forward and admitted to the crime. He had killed the woman and dumped her body. He had an accomplice, and they had tried to fool the police, but a butt dial gave them both away.
Cold Blooded Murder: Day admitted to killing Rana with his bare hands. He had apparently snapped, he admitted to the police. She had begun filming him and threatened to call the police. It pushed the man over the edge, and he strangled the innocent woman to death.
- He then dragged her body into the backyard, where he disconnected his CCTV. He then loaded her body into black bags and took it to a nearby river in a friend’s truck. The police then questioned the murderer’s accomplice about the use of her vehicle in the murder.
Get The Story Straight
Police then questioned Day’s friend, named Thomas, about her involvement in the murder of Rana Nofal. She initially said that she didn’t let him use the truck. Then, later, she told them she let him use the truck, came with, but didn’t know why.
- Eventually, the truth came out, and it was all due to a missed voicemail on her phone. He had inadvertently called her and left a message while they planned to dispose of the body. Despite both leaving their phones at Day’s house in an attempt to trick police into thinking they never left, the butt dial gave them away.
Incriminating Butt Dial: According to the police report, the two murderers can be heard moving something heavy, presumed to be the body. “Hey, help me…” “Make sure the lid’s on…” and “I’m sorry I got you messed up in this,” they say.
This was enough evidence to arrest the second suspect in the murder of Rana.
