“The Voice” champion Sundance Head gives tender update on his ailing father

2016 was a life-changing year for Sundance Head. The aspiring singer received what could end up being the biggest break of his career when he became the winner of Season 11 of NBC’s “The Voice.”

Yet, the year ended on a sad note, as Sundance dealt with the news that his father, Roy Head, was in intensive care on New Year’s Eve due to a ruptured aorta.

While Sundance is busy in Nashville this week, he did take the time to update fans on the health of his “pops” in a message shared Jan. 7 on his various social media channels.

“[The] power of prayer has been so amazing and I thank you all,” he wrote. “Breathing tube has been removed. Will be a slow recovery [because] he’s so weak but he will come home. When will be sometime but knowing he will come home is enough for me.”

While fans are eager to track Sundance’s father’s continued improvement, they are also eager to see what lies ahead in terms of Sundance’s career. With his next show scheduled for Jan. 29 in Houston, we can’t wait to see what else lies ahead for Sundance in 2017!
