Dwayne Johnson isn’t the spring chicken he once was. In his glory days in WWE, he was the People’s Champion. As The Rock, there was no bigger American hero. That trademark eyebrow raise blew the top off arenas across the world. Bulging muscles turned his people’s elbow into a devastating, career-ending, wrestling move.
Grinding Down The Rock: But, at the age of 53, those days of oiled-up muscles are behind him. Of course, he could have carried them, but it appears Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has hung up his muscles for a more subdued look.
Roid Retirement For The Rock
It’s refreshing to see someone like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson take a step back from his huge, muscular self and retire into a more normal body. In this day and age, every actor who needs to take their clothes off is on gear. The normal Hollywood male is so far outside the reach of the everyman.
But Dwayne has gone the other way, choosing to strip all that muscle off and look more like a regular 53-year-old. Of course, he’s still a beast, but he just looks like a natural one instead. It’s a healthy approach to take, and his body will thank him for it.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson shed nearly 28 kg to focus on health, agility, and longevity.
Doctors warned his physique could harm his long-term health.

The Healthy Choice: The years of carrying around all those muscles will already have taken a toll on his body. But by choosing to live like a mortal man, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson will add years to his life.
- In total, the ex-WWE star turned Hollywood actor has shaved off 28kg of gravel. This is a massive amount to have lost, and he looks good for it. Sure, he’s not the shiny bulging ring-dominator of the past, but he’s far from emaciated. The Rock is now The Pebble.
Given the choice of staying huge or living longer, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson decided to stick around. We can’t all be Sylvester Stallone, who still, at the age of almost 80, lives on almost purely performance-enhancing drugs.
