One man in Tanzania started feeling chest pains and took himself to the doctors to find out what was going on. He noted that he had begun to leak pus from his right nipple. The 44-year-old was taken in for X-rays to discover why he was lactating the milk of satan.
On closer inspection, it turns out that the man’s chest pains were caused by a knife he had lodged in his chest. Doctors were shocked to see the long, sharp blade shoved deep into his body. It hadn’t just been put there either; it had been in his chest for years.
Upon questioning, the man spoke of a knife fight he had been involved in eight years previously. During the fight, he said he had suffered “multiple cuts to his face, back, chest, and abdomen.” After the fight, he received only surface-level treatment for his wounds. No x-ray had been done, leaving the knife lodged in his chest, causing pain and pus years later.
How on earth does one miss an entire knife in their own body?

For years, the man had lived with a wedge of cold steel in his chest, but never suffered chest pains until eight years after the incident. According to the report, “He had an uneventful course over the next eight years until his current presentation.” It hardly bothered him, and he lived without “chest pain, difficulty breathing, cough, or fever.”
The doctors were able to remove the knife from his body without too much trouble. Only ten days after his surgery, he was discharged from the hospital, minus the blade he had been carrying around in his body for almost a decade.
According to the doctors, his body had managed to “encapsulate the foreign body within a fibrous capsule, limiting inflammation and tissue damage.” But his chest pains and leaking nipple were signs that all was not well in his body.
Luckily, the hard man took himself to the doctors, and they were able to save his life.
