At 13.5 feet, a LEGO skeleton standing in an Ohio man’s front yard has to be one of the biggest and spookiest ever.

Alan Perkins has always been known for his over-the-top, impressive Halloween displays. He likes to go all out every year, wooing the locals. This year, he looked to LEGO for a bit of inspiration. The iconic LEGO skeleton, with its bony hollow ribs and ghoulish face, was his next creative challenge.
- Perkins uses materials he can source from his local DIY store and Amazon. He’s even been so kind as to share his methods. For anyone looking to add a 13.5-foot LEGO skeleton to their own Halloween display, the step-by-step is available.
Faithful Replica: Reading through Perkins’ instructions, it’s clear to see he put a lot of time and effort into the LEGO skeleton. His first task was choosing which of the spooky toys to replicate. Over the years, there have been many, but there is one that really stuck in his head.
- Perkins ended up building the one most of us will remember, which he calls the “original Floppy arm skeleton.” This one has been on the market for 22 years and comes with movable arms and legs. Perkins, up for a challenge, also wanted his huge creation to be movable.
Spooky Skeletons Structure
When finished, the massive LEGO skeleton stands at over 13 feet. It dominates his already very full front yard, packed with previous creations. And, it’s remarkably accurate. There is no question about what the inspiration is. In fact, if I were him, I would be worried about a lawsuit.
- Even the massive skeleton arms can be moved with the design Perkins used. It’s a faithful replication of the tiny toy. His whole construction came to only $1,700. This might seem like a lot, but for the staggering size and spooky levels of the LEGO skeleton, it’s nothing.
LEGO actually shared his creation on its social media pages. His dedicated efforts to Halloween haven’t gone unnoticed. He’s taken his hobby of building and caught a lot of eyes. I can’t wait to see what he comes up with next year.
