Wedding days are stressful and exciting all at the same time. However, while most people are simply worrying about their guest list and floral arrangement, this bride-to-be had something else on her mind. Imagine her surprise when she went into labour on the day of her wedding.

The Details: Latroy Parker and his now wife, Jasmine Smith, were ecstatic for their wedding day. However, Jasmine woke him up with some shocking news.
- When speaking to WXII 12, Parker shared, “She woke me up this morning, and she was like, you know, my water broke. And I’m like, you’re kidding me? Right? I was like, we’re supposed to get married today.”
- The couple arrived at the hospital, desperate to still have their wedding even if it was alongside their baby.
- Moses Cone Hospital truly stepped up to the challenge.
Bride-To-Be Goes Into Labour On The Day Of Her Wedding

Upon their arrival at the hospital, the hospital staff was made aware of the situation as well as the couple’s wishes. Luckily for Latroy and Jasmine, Moses Cone Hospital was up to the challenge. The hospital reached out, searching for someone who could conduct this wedding.
- A hospital staff member asked, “Do you know anyone who is a chaplain who can do a wedding because the mother and the bride-to-be have gone into labour. “
Fortunately, Rev. Sharon Lee was up to the task. When speaking with the outlet, she shared that she admired the couple’s determination.
- “It was very clear to me when I met them to begin with that this was something that they wanted. They had prepared for it to be part of this humongous day for them.”
Just as the events unfold at a typical ceremony, they unfolded for Latroy and Jasmine. Vows were shared, rings were exchanged, and a kiss sealed the deal. All of this happened while the bride-to-be was in active labour.
The Best Memory
While I am certain this woman did not intend to enter labour on the day of her wedding, both she and her husband are immensely grateful for how the day turned out. Parker shared his gratitude for all those who made this special day possible.
- “It was the perfect setting, perfect moment. I really appreciate everybody for what they did, especially the minister for coming out and making this happen for us.”
Additionally, he shared that no matter how much time passes, this will never be a day or a memory that fades from his mind.
