A Home Depot customer in Colorado learned last month that a dog’s bark was not worse than its bite. In fact, it seemed the bite was actually worse.

In the event you weren’t aware, dogs are allowed in Home Depot and other similar chain stores nowadays. Usually, they’re brought in as part of the training process — to get the dogs used to being around stimuli or to see how they behave around people.
This particular dog in Evergreen, Colo., behaved poorly, according to authorities.
It happened when a female customer and trainer with a dog asked the soon-to-be victim to give the dog a treat. So that particular customer, also a female, did indeed give the dog a treat.
Then the dog bit the customer’s face.
Some thanks that was, huh?
Worse, the trainer and the dog’s owner (and the dog) left the scene, while Home Depot employees tended to the victim. Yes, Home Depot employees. Suddenly, they had to turn into rescue personnel.
This wasn’t just any dog bite, either. The victim will need facial surgery what police have labeled a “serious” attack.
But the trainer and dog owner didn’t get away scot-free. Instead, everything was caught on surveillance and police were able to locate the suspects, as the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office told Fox News they posted pictures on social media. That helped reel in the dog’s trainer and owner and, oh yeah, the canine.
“The owner would be held accountable for restitution or in the event of any enforcement action,” the sheriff’s office explained on Facebook. “For dog bites, the dog is quarantined at their home for 10 days, to ensure the dog is not exhibiting any behaviors associated with rabies.”
So far, no charges have been determined. But the victim has all the unfortunate evidence she needs.
