Police say the suspect worked under the alias “Lance Miller.” He reportedly posed as the owner and manager of the Charleston Lane Wedding Venue in Willis, Texas. The non-existent weddings cost the victims a combined $202,424.90.
Five other victims came forward explaining that they had weddings at the venue. However, Butcho promised them refunds for various issues, which they never received. Authorities say those refunds were worth $11,450.

The Sheriff’s office reveals they are holding Butcho on a $100,000 bond with multiple conditions. Those include no contact with the victims and GPS monitoring. He must also surrender his passport and cannot engage in wedding or event planning.
The press release explains that authorities are charging Butcho with Theft of Property valued between $150,000 and $300,000, which is a second-degree felony. He also faces separate charges in Travis County. Those include False Statement to Obtain Property or Credit and Fraudulent Securing of Document Execution.
Sheriff Wesley Doolittle said in a statement, “This arrest is a testament to the dedication of our investigators and the cooperation between agencies. These victims placed their trust in someone who exploited their special day for personal gain, and we are committed to ensuring that justice is served.” He added, “Our office will continue to pursue those who prey on others in our community.”
