At 79 years old, Dolly Parton has hardly slowed down at an age most people would have retired. Even now, she continues to tour, make appearances, and indulge her philanthropy. However, after admitting a few health issues, she has taken a brief break to recuperate.
Cancelled Events: The latest event Dolly Parton has canceled is her appearance at an awards show in November. She was due to appear, along with a number of other celebrities, at the 16th Governors Awards. Dolly Parton was due to be the guest of honor and given praise for her work in the film industry. She was set to receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award.
- However, Dolly Parton has had to pull out of the event, citing her ailing health as the reason. She has also recently moved six of her live Caesars Palace events to later in the year.
Dolly Makes A Statement
Dolly Parton has not kept her health struggles a secret. She knows that many people are excited to see her perform, and she doesn’t want to let them down. She’s been open about her issues. However, these things can’t be rushed, and her audience knows that.
- Speaking on her delayed Las Vegas residency, she said, “As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures.” This is in reference to her kidney stone infection. It had been causing her some issues, and she was getting it treated.

Although Dolly Parton may have canceled a few events due to her health, she will be back soon enough. It’s clear that she loves to perform, and nothing will keep her from the stage. Her long-awaited Las Vegas residency will continue once her health improves.
Dolly Parton has been consistently putting on a world-famous show since her beginnings in the 1950s. Ever since her rise to fame, she’s been one of the hottest tickets in country music. She should be back and right on form as soon as she is able.
