While drunk, Rhode Island man Edward Quinton, 44, allegedly stole a forklift from a Florida marina and crashed it into a gate. According to what he told police, he lost his keys Thursday night while helping his friends move and “needed something to drive.” He also claimed he knows how to drive a forklift.

He took the forklift from Marina Junction in Marathon around 9 p.m. and plowed through a fence, damaging the entrance to the marina. Afterwards while talking to police, Quinton insisted that he could fix the damages and said he was a “genius.”
He took a breathalyzer test and the result showed his blood alcohol was over double the legal limit. He was arrested and charged with drunken driving, criminal mischief, burglary and grand theft. He is currently is jail without bond.
