Theater offers free popcorn to anyone who brings the U.S. Constitution to The Interview

Movie-goers in Burlington, Vermont will get an extra treat on New Years Eve if they show up to a theater’s showing of The Interview.

The Palace 9 cinema in South Burlington is offering free popcorn to any patron who brings a copy of the Constitution. This special offer plays into the free speech issues raised when Sony Pictures initially cancelled the film.

Merrill Jarvis III, one of the co-owners of the Palace chain, explained to Seven Days why he offered the new deal.

“We need to understand our rights. I’m proud to be an American on the front line against terrorism,” he says.
