Find out this kid’s touching way of moving forward after he lost his best friend

At just 6, Will Manganis learned a rough lesson about life when he lost his best friend Joey to a heart condition. But rather than spend his years sulking and mourning, he decided to do something for others like Joey.

Joey Middlemiss died of cardiomyopathy in 2013. In his memory, Joey’s parents Scott and Kate started the Joey Middlemiss Big Heart Foundation to raise money and awareness of the condition that took his life, HooplaHa reports.

“Now that he’s in heaven, my job is to make sure that nobody ever forgets him and what a special person he was,” Scott Middlemiss said.

Will wanted to make sure of that too. So he started Kindness Rocks for Joey. He would pick rocks off the Cape Cod beach, paint them with hearts and sell them at farmer’s markets for $3 a pop. That was Joey’s favorite number. All the proceeds went to Joey’s parents’ foundation.
