The prom dress and tuxedo are made out of duct tape, Fox13 reports.

Ward, who will be attending Kent State University in the fall, says the she and her date were inspired to make the duct tape formals by the “Stuck at Prom” scholarship contest, which would net them $5,000 each. Their efforts have not gone unnoticed, as they made it to the top 10.

Ward said they used 28 rolls of duct tape for a grand total of 102 hours of work.

“The swirls figure skaters make are portrayed by the curling of the skirt and earrings with a little wire and the design on the heel of the shoe,” Ward said. “We captured the intricate designs on antique skeleton keys with the cut-by-hand designs on the dress, vest, and shoes.”

Let’s see if they win the $5,000 grand prize.

Vote for them StuckAtProm.com between June 10 through July 8 to show your appreciation for their efforts.
