At 9 years old, I think most of us are probably focused on the more childish side of life, like ‘coolest dinosaurs’, or ‘best shoes for going fast’. But one little nerd has somehow managed to be accepted into college neuroscience classes as a 9-year-old.

The boy from Pennsylvania was always going to be a special one. At only 2 years old, his parents knew there was something different about him. Whereas most of us were still drooling into our bibs, he was reading and recognising road signs.
- “I could just read them when most kids at my age, at like 2, could barely even speak,” he told 6 ABC.
His parents decided to see what was going on with the young genius, and so they took him in for a test. The test determines just how special kids are. It turns out he was what they call a ‘Gifted Child.’
His IQ was way above that of his peers. Now, as a result, he is studying neuroscience at the local Ursinus College alongside his studies at a charter school.
Proud Parents
According to the 9-year-old neuroscience whizz, he was always fascinated by human anatomy. When he decided to pursue further education on top of his current studies, it was a no-brainer.
- “Ever since I was 3, I’d watch an anatomy video and was always fascinated when I saw the brain,” he told NBC 10. “The reason why I want to be a pediatric neurosurgeon is mainly because I like helping kids around my age. It’s sad to see kids around my age with neurodisabilities, so I want to help them out.”
His mother is overjoyed. Her 9-year-old is the youngest to ever enroll in the college, and neuroscience is no Mickey Mouse qualification. But, she’s also proud of him being true to himself. He is pursuing something that he cares about, and that means something to him as a young person.
Being a boy genius is an interesting beginning to life. Hopefully it all pans out well foe him. With a supportive and caring community, he could go far.
