Watch the Civil Wars perform “Barton Hollow” on a very special night

January 31, 2011 was the night before the Civil Wars released their debut, iconic record “Barton Hollow.” The modern country group, known for their powerful harmonies and minimalist musical approach, performed the album’s self-titled single at the Zodiac Theatre in Florence, Alabama on the eve of the record’s release.

Over the next year two years, the Civil Wars would tour around the country, befriend Taylor Swift, and perform at the Grammy Awards. One record and two years later the band would part ways, citing “internal discord and irreconcilable differences of ambition.”
