Actor Tom Sizemore in Critical Condition Following Brain Aneurysm

Saving Private Ryan star Tom Sizemore has reportedly suffered a brain aneurysm. The actor, 61, was admitted to a hospital on Saturday, according his manager Charles Lago.

“Tom is hospitalized in intensive care due to a brain aneurism (sic),” Lago revealed in a statement. “He is currently in critical condition and it’s a wait and see situation.”

Sizemore’s manager went on to add: “His family is aware and waiting for updates.”

The actor who gained recognition for his portrayal of Mike Horvath in the 1998 Steven Spielberg movie Saving Private Ryan alongside Tom Hanks, also made appearances in Black Hawk Down and Pearl Harbor in 2001, as well as the 2017 Twin Peaks revival series.

According to IMDb, Siizemore has 33 forthcoming acting credits in both film and TV.

Sizemore has quite a trouble past involving addiction and legal issues, including a 2003 conviction for assaulting and battering his former girlfriend Heidi Fleiss, an arrest on suspicion of domestic violence in 2016, as well as a lawsuit filed by a stuntman accusing him of driving over him on the set of Shooter in 2016. The actor also had a civil lawsuit in 2020 filed by a woman who claimed he groped her on a movie set when she was 11. The actor denied all allegations, and the lawsuit was subsequently dismissed.

In 2013, Sizemore published a memoir called “By Some Miracle I Made It Out of There,” chronicling his struggles with addiction.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Sizemore discussed how he believed his addiction was linked to the pressures of fame and success. He explained that he turned to alcohol to cope, but switched to cocaine in order to function without it being noticeable to others. This eventually led to him trying heroin. However, he then quickly turned to crystal meth, which he said was the drug that caused his downfall from success.
