The Details: Tourists in Botswana were enjoying a guided tour that included some wildlife sightseeing. Unfortunately, their safari canoe tour quickly turned deadly when they floated too close to a mother and her young.

Video footage shows the terrifying moment when the mama elephant decides the tourists had gotten too close for comfort. She seperates from the herd and begins charging towards the toursits. Despite the tour guides’ best efforts to backpedal their canoes, they were not fast enough.

The woman closest to the elephant suffered the worst of the attack. As she attempted to wade through the water to safety, the elephant doubled back towards her. Then, the elephant tramples and nearly drowns the woman as she holds her under the water with her trunk.
